I am a gamer. Granted, I’m not very good at gaming, but I have a pretty big collection of games. So, I’ve been keeping tabs on E3, the yearly convention where big video game companies announce new, upcoming games. And, thus far, my favorite announcement has come from Sony and Hideo Kojima. Namely, a new game is being made with Norman Reedus. A game called Death Stranding. And like everyone else, one question keeps going through my mind: Is Silent Hills back?
So, I recently moved in with my grandma temporarily (which you’d know if you’ve been paying attention). As such, this blog is a tad late since I’ve been just getting used to being in this environment. Not a HUGE change, but a change nonetheless. Still, I’ve had at least one thing on my mind a lot recently and that thing is the Wii U.
So, this particular post is going to be a mixed bag. First, we’ll start off with some quick-fire reviews of stuff I’ve been wanting to talk about recently, then I’ll talk about why I’ve been so sporadic with posts this year. Alright, quick-fire reviews!
I have an addiction. I think I actually have a lot of addictions: Reading, movies, TV shows. Nothing life threatening, mind you, but definitely addictions. But one particular addiction has been on my mind lately. The Pokemon games have a feature now called Wondertrading. And I am highly, HIGHLY addicted to it.
Apologies for a lack of posts recently. Laura has been visiting and I haven’t had much time to blog. However, I do have something to talk about today.
I’ve been playing a few different games recently and they’ve all sort of been on my mind in one way or another. As such, I don’t have a lot to say about just one subject today. Instead, I have a few things to say about these different games with almost no connecting thoughts whatsoever. It’s sort of similar in style to a partial series called Junk Drawer by MovieBob over at The Escapist Magazine. (You can seen an example of this concept in this video right here.) The general theme of this article is a simple fact: I suck at video games.
After the kind of week I’ve had, I needed something lighter to talk about. Something harmless. Something cute. Something downright cheery, even. Kirby, for me, is the embodiment of all three of these… Well, maybe not harmless. I mean, Kirby IS essentially a cannibal of sorts… Anyway. Kirby Triple Deluxe!
I have changed my mind. I put the Sly Cooper franchise in my Top Favorite Video Game Franchises list, fairly close to the top. I was wrong. If I hate half the games in the series, this franchise doesn’t deserve to be in that list. On that note, I HATED Sly 4: Thieves In Time… though not nearly as much as I hated Sly 3.
